At CeBIT 2010 SCE Software presents TwinScan-L/Mac, a professional scan solution for Mac OS X. The software, designed for use with production scanners, will ship from March 2010. Due to its modular design it easily adapts to individual customer needs. High scalability enables maximum performance even during parallel executed processes. Munich, February 2010 — Apart from the Mac software SCE will showcase an automated solution for invoice processing, based on the integration platform xbound.

Documents are captured using InoTec high performance scanners. Then Paradatec modules, integrated into xbound, perform the required document processing. Documents are classified and data like addresses and invoice numbers are extracted and validated. Xbound transfers the information extracted to the customer’s core systems, like archives and accounting systems. It is a seamless and completely integrated process.

Mac Software for Production Scanner

"TwinScan-L gives Mac users a software for the efficient capture of large and heterogeneous document volumes. Application areas are incoming mail, invoice and forms processing as well as archival scanning", explains Eberhard M. Stahl, CEO of SCE Software & Services GmbH.

The entire TwinScan-L family benefits from a redesigned user interface with ribbon technology. The ribbons, well known in standard office programs, enable the user fast access to needed functions by eliminating the often tedious stepping through entire menu structures.

The modular design of the scan software offers maximum user flexibility. Even difficult scan workflows are easily configured with TwinScan-L. Additional functionalities are simple to add without the need to update the entire application.

TwinScan-L comes with all basic functions needed for simple scan applications. It includes selections such as colour/bitonal, simplex/duplex, various resolutions and paper sizes. Dedicated modules are available for image optimisation, image processing and OCR-/ICR recognition.

The high scalability of the software ensures optimum use of available processors and computer kernels. The result is high throughput that does not decrease during processing intensive steps. At this stage TwinScan-L only works with SCAMAX 4x2 high performance scanners from InoTec. Connection to document scanners in the lower performance range will be available shortly.

DMS Specialists SCE and foxray announce formation of a strategic partnership at CeBIT.

Munich, January 2009 — "The cooperation combines the integration competence and software know-how of both companies. It offers tailor-made systems to customers covering the efficient capture and processing of documents", says Eberhard M. Stahl, Managing Director of SCE Software & Services GmbH. The DMS solutions provider will distribute foxray xbound, a platform for automatic document processing, effective immediately. It will use xbound as an integration component in existing and future user applications. SCE will also develop its own modules for integration into foxray software. "xbound complements SCE Software & Services GmbH’s portfolio, injecting substantial functionalities that customers and prospects are currently demanding. Additionally, we value the professional and high-calibre integration competence of our new partner, which guarantees many interesting projects in the future", comments Torsten Malchow, Director Sales & Marketing of foxray AG on the start of the partnership.

SCE Software & Services GmbH will showcase a solution at the forthcoming CeBIT for the processing of accounts payables invoices based on xbound. The solution will cover all aspects, such as: document imaging using InoTec high-speed scanners; extraction and validation of data using Paradatec's PROSAR-AIDA; plus transfer of documents and data to downstream processing systems.

Customer expectations in respect of document capture have increased considerably over the past few years. "Flexibility, scalability and functions covering data security and monitoring have been placed at the top of the wish list", reports Eberhard M. Stahl. To meet these requirements the xbound platform offers a large variety of powerful tools. Modules for the import of digital documents, such as email, faxes or PDFs, are already integrated into xbound. The same applies to modules for image processing, document classification and data extraction. Xbound also provides modules for comprehensive processing history logging. Processing steps are simply defined and/or modified by mouse click and drag & drop functions via the graphic user interface. Already existing components such as classification, data extraction and validation can be integrated easily. Paradatec’s PROSAR-AIDA and PROKEY modules seamlessly integrate for the classification of documents, extraction and validation of data, such as invoice header, line items, totals, and export them via xbound to the user’s main system like archiving or accounting systems. Apart from the multi-user capability the xbound platform excels through its scalability, which allows processing of both small document volumes up to very large ones.

Standardised interfaces enable foxray partners to integrate additional modules into the platform. SCE Software & Services GmbH will integrate its own modules for image processing and indexing. It is also planned to utilise specialised modules from other foxray partners. SCE’s integration expertise ensures seamless integration of the software into the customer’s business proccesses.
