Company Profile

The company was founded in 1993 by Eberhard Stahl (B. App. Sc.) as a software engineering office. Its scope was, above all, the development of intelligent scan work station software to support high speed production document scanners.

In close co-operation with leading German scanner manufacturer InoTec GmbH Organisationssysteme , situated in Wölfersheim near Frankfurt/Main, the SCAMAX^® ScanWorkStation was developed primarily for use with the SCAMAX^® 5000 scanner. This ScanWorkStation is now also available for the SCAMAX^®2500/2600 scanners. The ScanWorkStation software operates under SOLARIS 2.6, a UNIX based operating system.

In 1999 the company was transformed into a GmbH (limited company, Ltd.) and adopted the name carried today. Eberhard Stahl is the managing partner of the company.

The transofrmation was necessitated by the expanding activities of the enterprise. In addition to the traditional scope of heavy duty scan software development, distribution of products in the area of OCR / ICR and free-form recognition were added to the line-up. These latter products are developed by the German company Paradatec GmbH. We support customers by integrating and operating these products.

In the area of bitonal scan clients under Windows 98/ 2000/ NT/ XP we are marketing and supporting the product DpuScan of Janich&Klass Computertechnik GmbH.

With the TwinScan (TwS) product our range of scan workstation products expanded to encompass greyscale and colour scanners. Currently this product is available for use with Windows 2000/ NT/ XP operating systems.

In addition to the continuous development and support of our software products we offer development of customer specific solutions and integrations in the area of document management systems (DMS).
